I think it took a total of 30 seconds for me to fall in love with this place.
Tobermory is the cutest little town on a marina in the Bruce Peninsula of Ontario, and let me tell ya; it’s my own little slice of heaven. I’m a small-town girl… always have been, always will be, so this place was perfect. I would move there in a heartbeat (…I’ve always wanted to live on a boat…).
The minute we arrived, we checked into the motel and dropped off our bags. The Bruce Anchor Motel has to be the nicest motel I have ever stayed in, hands down. Between our king sized bed and jacuzzi tub, my trip was already made.
After picking up some groceries, we explored the town a little. Everything is built around the harbour, so the view is spectacular no matter where you stand. Dinner was tough, since there is no shortage of places to eat (and this gal likes to eat), and so after some serious debating, we ordered two pizzas from Della Rocca; one for me and one for my boyfriend Liam (we have different tastes, and I hate sharing). We ate the pizzas in our bed whilst watching the food network. What more could I ask for?
Day two was action packed with adventure. We took a jet boat over to the Fathom Five National Marine Park (a.k.a Flowerpot Island). The boat tour took us around the harbour, and over two different shipwrecks before dropping us off. We spent the afternoon hiking around. I can’t get over how blue the water was! Like I’m talking crystal clear and turquoise blue. It was incredible.
It was hard to go back to work today, after such an amazing time away… even if it was just for a couple of days. I was spoiled this weekend; even considered quitting my job so I could feel this relaxed like this all the time… just kidding. Now’s the time where I want to thank my amazing boyfriend for all of the thought and effort he put into this trip… you da bomb, boo.
It’s getting late… time to peel this charcoal mask off without crying and get some sleep. Tomorrow’s a new day (and a new shift, ugh). Sleep tight.
